Login Issues

Troubleshoot authentication and login problems.


"Invalid Credentials"

Check Email/Password

  1. Verify email address is correct
  2. Check for typos in password
  3. Ensure Caps Lock is off
  4. Try copying password from password manager

Password Reset

If you've forgotten your password:

  1. Click "Forgot Password" on login page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check inbox (and spam) for reset link
  4. Click link and set new password

Link expires after 24 hours.


"Email Not Found"

Verify Account Exists

  • Did you sign up with a different email?
  • Did you use OAuth (Google, GitHub) instead?
  • Is there a typo in the email?

Check OAuth

If you signed up with OAuth:

  • Click "Sign in with Google" (or GitHub/Microsoft)
  • Don't use email/password form

Create Account

If you don't have an account:

  1. Click "Sign Up"
  2. Complete registration
  3. Verify email

"Account Locked"

Too Many Attempts

After 5 failed login attempts, account is temporarily locked.

Wait time: 15 minutes

After lockout expires, try again with correct credentials.

Contact Support

If you believe this is an error:

  • Contact support with your email
  • Provide any relevant details
  • Support can unlock if legitimate

OAuth Login Issues

Google Sign-In

"Popup blocked"

  • Allow popups for blocksecops.com
  • Try clicking sign-in again

"Access denied"

  • Ensure you're using correct Google account
  • Check Google account permissions

GitHub Sign-In

"Authorization failed"

  • Check GitHub account is active
  • Verify email is verified on GitHub
  • Try logging into GitHub first

Microsoft Sign-In

"Admin approval required"

  • Your organization may restrict apps
  • Contact your IT admin
  • Use email/password instead

Discord Sign-In

"Unable to complete authentication"

  • Verify Discord account is active
  • Check email is verified on Discord
  • Try logging into Discord first

Apple Sign-In

"Apple ID authentication failed"

  • Ensure Apple ID is valid and active
  • Check you have 2FA enabled (required)
  • Try using a different browser

Slack Sign-In

"Workspace authorization required"

  • Your Slack admin may restrict third-party apps
  • Contact workspace admin
  • Use email/password instead

BitBucket Sign-In

"Authorization failed"

  • Check BitBucket account is active
  • Verify email is verified on BitBucket
  • Try logging into BitBucket first

X (Twitter) Sign-In

"App authorization failed"

  • Check X account is in good standing
  • Verify email is verified on X
  • Some accounts may have restrictions

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Lost Authenticator Access

If you can't access your authenticator:

  1. Use a backup code (if saved)
  2. Contact support for account recovery
  3. Verify identity through support process

Invalid 2FA Code

If code doesn't work:

  • Wait for new code (codes change every 30 seconds)
  • Check device time is correct
  • Ensure using right account in authenticator

Reset 2FA

Contact support with:

  • Account email
  • Proof of identity
  • Reason for reset

SSO Issues (Enterprise)

"SSO Not Configured"

Contact your organization admin to:

  • Verify SSO is set up
  • Check your email domain is included
  • Confirm IdP configuration

"SSO Authentication Failed"

Check with IT admin:

  • Is your account active in IdP?
  • Are you in the correct group?
  • Is the session valid?

Redirect Loop

If stuck in redirect:

  1. Clear browser cookies
  2. Try incognito/private window
  3. Contact IT admin

Browser Issues

Clear Cache and Cookies

  1. Open browser settings
  2. Clear browsing data
  3. Select "Cookies" and "Cached images"
  4. Clear for blocksecops.com

Try Different Browser

Supported browsers:

  • Chrome (recommended)
  • Firefox
  • Safari
  • Edge

Disable Extensions

Extensions may interfere:

  1. Try incognito/private mode
  2. Disable ad blockers
  3. Disable privacy extensions temporarily

Session Expired

"Session Expired" Message

Sessions expire after:

  • 24 hours of inactivity
  • 7 days maximum

Simply log in again to continue.

Frequent Logouts

If logging out unexpectedly:

  • Check "Remember me" is selected
  • Verify cookies aren't being cleared
  • Check for browser extension interference

Email Verification

Didn't Receive Verification Email

  1. Check spam/junk folder
  2. Add [email protected] to contacts
  3. Request new verification email
  4. Check email is spelled correctly

Verification Link Expired

Links expire after 24 hours.

  1. Go to login page
  2. Click "Resend verification"
  3. Check email for new link

Already Verified

If you see "already verified" but can't log in:

  • Password may be wrong
  • Try password reset
  • Contact support

Account Recovery

Email Access Lost

If you can't access your email:

  1. Contact support
  2. Provide alternate verification
  3. Support will assist with recovery

Account Compromised

If you suspect unauthorized access:

  1. Reset password immediately
  2. Enable 2FA
  3. Review account activity
  4. Contact support

Still Can't Login?

Gather this info for support:

  1. Email address used
  2. Authentication method (email, OAuth, SSO)
  3. Exact error message
  4. Browser and version
  5. Screenshots if possible
